The NorCal People's Climate Rally is happening in Oakland.

Join us in Oakland (and other locations) for a Rally and spread the word about postering/bannering around the Bay Area.

The Rally will be held on 9/21 from 2 pm to 5 pm at the Lake Merritt Amphitheater.

It will be a family-friendly event, on the shore of Oakland's Lake Merritt, just a few short blocks from the Lake Merritt BART station.  Sponsoring and endorsing organizations will be part of a "Climate Fair", with tables for literature and discussion.

    Gardens at Lake Merritt in Oakland, CA

    Tree Planting and Meditation Ceremony at Lake Merritt before the Rally

    Growing Together and the NorCal Community Resilience Network are pleased to present

    Fruit Tree Planting and Collective Prayer for Peace
    Pre-Rally Event at the Lake Merritt Garden, 666 Bellevue Ave, Oakland

    Gather before the climate rally at Lake Merritt to plant and dedicate fruit trees for peace and join in a powerful global peace meditation for inner and outer resilience. The tree planting is part of Growing Together’s effort to plant 100 trees for peace in the Oakland area (growingtogetherproject.org); and the meditation is part of a globalized synchronized meditation, with hundreds of communities meditating at noon as part of the Unify Peace Campaign (unify.org). No tree planting or meditation experience necessary! Bring a Meditation cushion if you wish! Light refreshments provided.

    11 am: Gather at Victory Gardens plot
    11:15: Share Stories of Peace and Resiliency
    11:30: Collectively Plant Peace Trees
    12 noon: Sit to participate in Global Synchronized Mediation as organized by Unify.org
    12:30 -- Walk to the rally... take a walk around the beautiful gardens too!

    We will be finished by 12:30, giving people time to head over to the climate rally.

    Enter Gate Across from the Sailboat House; immediately turn left and walk straight ahead. The garden is located on the right side where another sidewalk intersects from the right. OR

    Enter Gate Next to Garden Center. Walk straight and turn right at the first pavilion (there’s concrete, grass, and a patio). This is space for the meditation for 100 people. Walk through the patio to our Peoples Victory Garden Edible Landscape garden (across from the Monkey Puzzle Tree)

    There is a $5 charge to enter the park through the Kiosk.

    Third & El Camino, San Mateo in San Mateo, CA

    Stand Up for Climate Action with Peace Action of San Mateo County

    Rally will be on the public sidewalk in front of B of A. We will have a large banner saying, "Stand Up for a Green Energy Economy" and props to remind people of rising sea levels due to climate change.

    If you want, you can bring your own sign.

    We need to let through any passers by.
